Manchester Climbing Centre was officially opened by Sir Chris Bonnington in February 2005 and was our first climbing centre, housed in a redundant church in West Gorton in East Manchester.
The building is grade 2 listed, occupies a footprint of 15,000 sq ft and benefits from a 50 space free car park. The walls are up to 20 metres in height and cater for a wide and varied user group comprising of beginners walls through to advanced walls. There is a dedicated disability area and 3 bouldering zones. Within the building we have a 70 seat conference room, offices, café and retail shop.
The centre is managed by a dedicated Centre Manager who is supported by an Assistant Manger, Operations Manager and 4 duty managers. They manage a team of 25 instructors who cover the course and session delivery amongst other general duties.
